My highlights of 2013!

Last year was probably the most exciting year of my life and I'm so lucky to have been able to enjoy so many experiences and create memories that will last forever.

However, we're now 5 days into the new year and I've been reminiscing about how good last year was. So, this is just a little reflection on some of the things that I got up too in 2013..

Firstly, in February I was able to go to New York which was absolutely incredible and everything that I dreamt it would be. Although I went as part of a school trip (completely for educational purposes of course, ahem...) and it was only for a few days, I can honestly say that it was my highlight of 2013. Of course, with it being February, it was absolutely freezing cold, but trudging through the snow and having to wrap up warm added to the experience. The weather did affect some of our plans but I was still able to visit iconic places such as Central Park, Times Square, Ground Zero, the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State building and Brooklyn Bridge. Also, whilst taking a break from being your typical British tourist, I managed to fit in some time to soak up the city's atmosphere by using NYC transport (Yellow cabs and subways; not a fan of the latter), eating American foods and obviously I made sure that I could take a little detour to Macy's and Bloomingdale's. I often look back at my photos from New York and wish that I could do it all over again. I will definitely be back there one day!

In February/March I went to see Justin Bieber and One Direction in concert *aaaahhh*. I'm not ashamed to admit that I am a teeny tiny bit obsessed with the two of them. I enjoyed both concerts SO much and I think I'm still suffering from post-concert depression (don't mock it, it's a real scientific-y thing)

April was the month I turned 18 which is a pretty big milestone in one's life. I had a big party with all of my friends and family and it was really nice to celebrate with everyone. However, I don't feel, or look, 18 at all which I can't decide is a good or a bad thing.

On the 8th of May 2013, I passed my driving test! Completely unexpected and long overdue because I had been learning for about 10 months. However it was worth the wait because I passed first time and now I can drive my little red Clio around to my heart's content.

In July I went on holiday to Tunisia with my 3 best friends. We were a little apprehensive about travelling to Africa but it turned out to be an amazing two weeks. The weather was perfect and we got to try new foods and experiences (Going on a camel ride was a personal favourite)

A-Level results day was August 15th. A day I had been dreading ever since I put my pen down after my last exam in the first week of June. Luckily, a miracle happened and I somehow managed to get accepted into my first choice university. I then realised that I would have to move away from home, start a new life and become a proper grown up so the rest of that month, and most of the end of the year, is an emotional blur.

What have been your best moments of 2013? I know that, personally, this year has a lot to compete with but I'm determined to make 2014 as good as it can be :)
